Are You Concerned About Water Chlorination Or Trihalomethanes (THMs) In Your Water?

Trihalomethanes (THMs) are created from a chemical reaction between water and the chlorine used to disinfect it. You should not drink water with a high level of THMs. This article explains some of the health risks of trihalomethanes, including reproductive problems and cancer. Drinking water in many communities in Eastern Massachusetts is treated with chlorine or chloramines, which could lead to the production of trihalomethane (THMs) as well as a bad taste and odor.
